How Do You Deal With Screw Locking?

Dec 05, 2022

We will describe a situation in which non-standard screws become locked while in use. What steps should be taken?

1. If the screw is not properly selected, it is easy to lock when used. Before use, it should be confirmed that the screw's mechanical properties meet the needs of the users.

2. The screw teeth are rough or have foreign bodies embedded in them. Non-standard screw size, mechanical properties, and surface defects must all be inspected, and the specific inspection should be carried out in accordance with the different regulations of different products. If there are solder joints or other metal debris caught between the teeth, the screw will frequently lock up.

3. Excessive force or a fast locking speed when screwing the screw may cause the screw temperature to rapidly rise and lock.

4. There are no flat spring washers. Flat washers and spring washers can effectively prevent over-tightening in screw assembly.

5. The screw's force direction or angle is incorrect. The nut must be screwed perpendicular to the screw axis and not tilted.
